 ELIGIBILITY:

Students in grades 9 - 12 whose directors are current members of LMEA are eligible to audition.  A student auditioning for the All-State Choir must be a member of the school's choral music program.  In a situation where there is no program in the school, the student must be certified by the eligible music teacher at the school or a private teacher who is a member of LMEA.

All-State Choir is one of five All-State ensembles to perform during the LMEA conference. Students are eligible for membership in only one All-State group with the exception of vocalists who audition for the jazz ensemble. The choir, generally made up of approximately 160 members,  traditionally performs the end of the week prior to Thanksgiving.

New 2008: An All-State Women's Choir (SSAA) made up of 60 members is being added.  For women, their ranking in the 2nd round auditions will determine which choir she will participate in.
