The goal of L.M.E.A. is to further music education in Louisiana at all levels. In our district, we strive to provide a high level of performance opportunities for both the individual performer and the school ensemble. All opportunities are co-ordinated through the school's ensemble director. Directors must be members of LMEA for their students to participate in the district's activities.
Membership in L.M.E.A. is a joint membership with the Music Educators National Conference (M.E.N.C.). If you would like to become a member of L.M.E.A., please call M.E.N.C. at 1-800-828-0229 or click on the link below.
Each event has a different chairperson. If directors have questions about a particular event, please call or email the event's chairperson. If you need additional help or information, email: Sharon McNamara-Horne, LMEA District IX Director and Vocal Chairperson Neal Naquin, Instrumental Chairperson
